There is no better resource for beginners than the Python Tutorial (linked
from python.org).
I've been helping a guy from Norway (strangely enough) through it over the
last few weeks, and he's learned *heaps*. He had zero knowledge of
programming at all, other than the painfully recurring:
10 PRINT "Basic Considered Harmful, Learn Python Instead"
20 GOTO 10
He's now asking questions whilst reading the Library Reference!
