At the risk of being flamed to death (again...D'oh!), I
was reading through some old email today, and came upon
the folowing revelation;
There has been a lot of OT mail recently (yes, I'm as
guilty as anyone else), and talk of a slug_social or
slug_OT mailing list.
I'd like to extend this further and propose a "distro"
based series of lists.
Not to take away from the existing list, which will
always (I imagine) be the centre of the SLUG universe,
but when a question gets too distro-specific, you move
the discussion to;
slug_suse
slug_e-emith
slug_deadrat (oops... redhat)
slug_<insert-distro-here>
Rather than have this degerate into a package-based
series of lists, only distro-SPECIFIC stuff would be
moved - all other mail would go through the normal slug
list...
I have no idea if there is an insignificant amount of
work in setting these up or not, but I would imagine
that each distro list could be "moderated" by someone
who uses that distro...
Thoughts ??
