What is causing you grief with Sendmail? Maybe we can get rid of the
reason to change? What disto are you using? For some reason I find
sendmail on my debian machine to be quite easy, its nicely packaged.

You don't read mail through sendmail you read on a client that uses either
POP or IMAP of a mail file.

I use the University of Washington imap server. "dpkg -s imap"

Some people on this list like qmail, after using sendmail for so long I
found I could not get qmail configured easily and did not have a reason to
invest the time to learn it, so I just went with sendmail again.

If they support mbox format then yes, as that is what sendmail will be
storing things as.

About as much as I am. I like sendmail in the same way that I prefer vi
over pico <grin>.
