The KT software now supports (correct me if I am wrong Jeff) the concept
of claiming a topic/thread so having a "group authored" approach.

They use this for the debian lists I think. If you want to claim a thread
for summary you send a mail to a special address. Once your summary is
written you send it to the editor of that KC. The summaries have to be
formatted into the XML I guess, otherwise the editor will have to do it
all.

I don't think the SLUG list is big enough or that there will be enough
people willing to sumarise to start that processes yet. If people want to
summarise something they can just tell the editor. Once there were a few
people doing it you could start the thread claiming.

I am working on ways to make it easier to generate the Pearl by hacking
MHonArc to generate some of the tedious XML generation required etc.

I am discussion this on the kcdevel mailing list which I think is
appropriate. I suggest people join for a while whist we sort out the SLUG
issue (I seam to be talking to myself ;-) ). Or we can discuss it on the
SLUG list as well, but I did not think low level stuff was needed here.

Keep pondering everyone.
