I suggest trying other Hot Swap caddies, sounds like something is dodgey.

You've built many RAID systems before but what about these HDD caddies? Ever
used this brand before?

Could it be that the 1 of the caddies has failed considering that the
drives/raid/controller/pc are all OK and only fails with the Caddy...????

Works fine without the racks, And I have built several dozen raid systems,
and even more plain scsi systems and know its not a termination problem, or
cable problem.

We are using Raid1 with 2 drives, I know another person using Raid 5 & Raid0
on the same card with alot more HDD's then me..
