Not sure what happened, I installed an internal modem based on lucent chip,
following the linmodem howto. It works well. However following a reboot,
whenever I tried to use it, it would freeze the PC. I back tracked and
remove everything that I did but now ppp will dial, connect and negotiate,
succeed but failed when it tries to start pppd
To complicate matter worse now when I ping my win98 machine from linux box,
it doesnot show return packet info. when I stop ping using ctrl-c this is
what it tells me
ping stat 75 transmitted 1 packet received 98% packet loss round trip
min/avg/max=1/1/1 ms
any suggestion anyone?
