My 2c worth..
Are there any benchmarks that are accurate, impartial and of any
relevance to the real world?
A rhetorical question as I firmly believe that;
Benchmarks (in the IT/computing world) are flawed (in general)
because they oversimplify the system(s) whose quality they
are trying to quantify, the real chaos doesn't start until
complexities arise or are introduced.
In my opinion this is where LINUX outstrips M$ stuff, as well
as the obvious advantages that
-Its cheaper to setup maintain and extend its functionality.
-You have *complete* control over it. (which implies trust in
the
abilities of your staff to maintain/configure/set up such
things)
