But it is a crucial factor. I cant remember excatly where I read the artical
but it was describing a case where a single processor machine of lower speed
was out performing a machine with 2 faster 2 CPUs. It came down to the nature
of the application and the size of the cache on the CPU. The single CPU had
more cache and fitted some data or program in it. The machine with 2 cpus had
problems as the 2 cpus were trying to use the cache on the motherboard.

Benchmarking is not as simple as it sounds.
