I upgraded my RH 6 box to RH 7.1.
At the completion of the upgrade, after the system rebooted, I got
the following message during boot:
bringing up eth0 interface: delaying eth0 initialization [FAILED]
When I run "ifconfig eth0", I get:
eth0: error fetching interface information: Device not found
ifconfig -a only reports device lo
The lan card is a 3c509
I then attempted to install RH 7.1 from scratch but the install
program never asks about the LAN card or any network questions.
As a last resort, I reinstalled RH 6 and the install program detected
the card correctly and installed the interface. It worked.
I upgraded to RH 7.1 again with the same result.
Does anyone have any experience with a similar problem? All
suggestions gratefully accepted.
