Gentlemen, I've come to you because I'm absolutely stumped.
Although it may make sense to you I'm buggered if I can work it out, the documentation for the wine emulation is just utter tripe to me, can't make heads or tails of what to do on a step by step basis to get the bastard to work for me. Can you please help? I'll probably need a copy of a wine.conf file to get going with this because I just don't know how to break into the system to get it going, I've read the howto's over and over, but it unfortunatley just does not add up. My situation is; AMD k2 500 512 M ram IDE 1 = linux mandrake 7.2 4.2 gb fujitsu IDE 2 = Win 98 B 20 gb seagate IDE 3 = CDROM Burner Diamond data CDRW 40x16x10 IDE 4 = 50 x CD ROM I don't think hardware is a problem... I've put that wine.conf has: [Drive C] "Path" = /mnt/windows (this is how it appears in konqueror) "Type" = "hd" (it is a hard drive 20 gb, lba) "Label" = "windows" (this is the label of the drive) "Filesystem" = "win98" (this is the file system, is this valid? - should it be win95?) saved it to disk and tried running a win-app - myob.exe as root using; wine c:\windows\myob10\myob.exe, or from /mnt/windows/myob10; wine myob.exe, or wine sol.exe (from root) and from all the postions the kharma sutra could describe...with my tongue in the right corner of my mouth, but nothing works, not even my charming bedside manner. So, it could be like me trying to learn how to play a violin, there is always a crucial step you don't know when trying to teach yourself.. what am I missing?? your assistance would be deeply appreciated.
