I've used them back home in Western Victoria (where they started), both on a modem and later on a satellite. No fancy setups, so linux worked fine, and I think if you talk to the right person you can get help if you need it.
It was a pretty good setup for a country ISP, especially compared to the competition available there, I don't know how they stack up against all the extra options you have in the city, but worth looking into Rob (also with dingoblue and searching....)
