Speaking as the manager of a Sydney-based ISP, the new website we are
building is being tested on most browsers under Windows/Linux/Mac.

But we have no intention of "supporting" Linux.

We are a completely Linux based ISP, and always speak encouraging words
about Linux to our customers. Some of the staff use Linux as their desktop
OS of choice at work (The only exception is their OS must run on Intel based
hardware)

If our linux customers phone up with standard questions (like DNS IP's or
mailserver address) we help them out ofcourse.

Some of our support staff are able to help with things like wvdial, or
whatever they are familiar with. But I do not see how we would be able to
"support" the many different distributions, many different sets of dialup
scripts, different browsers et al that Linux has.

If you have any suggestions (short of re-training my entire staff) I'm
listening.

Now, don't mistake any of the above, I certainly don't discourage my staff
from attempting to help out Linux users. But any support those people get
will differ depending on the support person they speak to. From some of my
support staff the Linux user will simply receive a "Huh?".
