I'm kinda busy so I'll give you the brief version. Mail me later and tell me if I'm wrong. You're using the alsa sound drivers. The alsa sound drivers by default have the mixer set to silent. It seems that the drivers are loading correctly, so I'd suggest you get xmms with the alsa 0.9 plugin or alsaplayer or something that does alsa output and have it play stuff. If that part doesn't work, I'm wrong and write back to me. Then, in an xterm run "alsamixer", I can't remember the keyboard commands right now, but you'll figure them out (I had the problem of alsamixer randomly crashing last time I played with it.) - if you get audio then, try an oss application. Anyway, let us know how you go with that. James. -- SLUG - Sydney Linux User's Group - http://slug.org.au/ More Info: http://lists.slug.org.au/listinfo/slug
