I can vouch for that comment.. I've had a Netcomm Inmodem56 PCI internal in a
linux machine at my folks house for about 3-4 months now and its never caused
problems.

And just recently got another such modem to replace my external netcomm
roadster II as I wanted to free up the power point, and have the case doing my
nat more intergrated.

Sample from dmesg;

Loading Lucent Modem Controller driver version 6.00
Detected Parameters Irq=11 BaseAddress=0xe800 ComAddress=0xecf8
Lucent Modem Interface driver version 6.00 (2001-01-26) with SHARE_IRQ enabled
ttyLT00 at 0xe800 (irq = 11) is a Lucent Modem

Sample from lsmod;

Module Size Used by Tainted: P
lt_serial              20480   2
lt_modem              314432   0  [lt_serial]
dummy                    928   0  (unused)

I always recommend them, as they are cheap modems and seem to work excellent.
