As another poster has mentioned, bochs' VGA isn't up to the latest and greatest. If you run out of CVS then you can get 800x600 @ 256 colours. Otherwise you'll be limited to 640x480 @ 16. Perhaps a better thing to do would be to try the Windows software you need under Wine?
