For me the main problem is simply that the monthly meetings are always on a Friday. The mailing list seems as healthy as ever. Suddenly berating the members for a perceived apathy seems odd to me. Have the members been complaining? Are your expectations of the members actually in line with what the members want? I haven't seen much in the way of polling members for feedback on any issues.
