I always worry about what is being blocked.. do any of these products give
access to their databases? There was much talk about NetNanny blocking
any site that was critical of NetNanny!
What exactly is "hate" for instance? <irony>We all know that ALL muslims
are terrorists, so how can we be sure that all their websites are
blocked!! Anything to do with breasts is obviously porn, so can we be
certain that chicken recipes are kept out? </irony>
It isn't trivial. There are endless examples of censorship because of an
"agenda", either political, moral or religious - or heaven knows even
because of OS prejudice.
A superficial search of the SurfControl site doesn't show any indication
of what is censored and what isn't, just some vague "guidelines".
