Ok, CRT tubes contain in some cases up to a kilo of lead in the glass. The disposal of CRT tubes is a real issue, land fill is out. Recent studies by the USA EPA have shown that the lead leaches out of CRT tubes in landfill.
The only company I know that disposes CRT is MRI out at Smithfield (i think) but it will cost you money to be responsible in the safe disposal of CRT. If your interested about the evils of lead visit: http://www.lead.org.au/ And if you feel that the LCD monitor is greener think again. This time the heavy element is mercury is contained in the LCD. -- SLUG - Sydney Linux User's Group Mailing List - http://slug.org.au/ Subscription info and FAQs: http://slug.org.au/faq/mailinglists.html
