Thanks Rev Simon

I'll follow your advice and report back on success or otherwise.

I'm using phpMp (as in magazine article) and not phpMp2.

After receiving your email, realised that I'd have to set /etc/network/interfaces to fixed IP ( i'd upgraded the network card to a 1000/100/10 from a 100/10 and hence a different IP by way of DHCP on newly installed Distro whereas other PCs are set to see original fixed IP).

Also realised that I'd need to open port 6600 in my router, and actually place some mp3's in the default directory.

Sidux (http://sidux.com/) is an installable livecd based on Debian sid and was originally created by a group of developers who split from the KANOTIX project and launched their own distribution.

Always another learning experience.

Thanks

Bill
