thanks guys to everyone who answered;
i've ordered and am waiting (excitedly, like a kid for god's sake....)
for my new
black box, virginally pure from any commerical software, consecrated
to Ubuntu!!
my first ever dedicated linux box..
as i said, i'm like a kid in the lead-up to Xmas!
i'm going to be plaguing you guys for help when it comes, i expect..
but i AM going to invest a $100 bucks in a couple of good books so as
i really learn some stuff..
to that end,
i'm buying:
Beginning Linux by kier thomas
and the offical ubuntu book...

what's the general opinion 'round here?
betw. these 2 books, do you think i will get a good, thorough
introduction to ubuntu? to linux?

thx again, in anticipation of some great responses,
rufus
