Hi I've got a chroot ubuntu live CD image I want to customize.
The 'CD' boots to ram and runs a DVR app and nothing else. I want to keep the gnome desktop for 'Start' 'Stop' 'Monitor' and 'Exit' icons Click a video icon and it plays. So far so good, all is well and runs perfectly. Now my customer wants No Other options in the menu and booting is quicker if the squash image is smaller. So I want to do rpm -e --nodeps --force ... on OO, games, firefox, evolution etc. dpkg and apt seem to not have the options. Every one says aptitude is better. Wow not for the likes of me! but it still does not allow packages to be broken. Short of lists and a stick can the package manger be forced?
