Thanks for all the feedback folks. I've ended up buying the 900, which is 250g lighter than the 901 (mainly due to battery) and substantially cheaper. Will see how I go.
Unfortunately, I couldn't find anywhere selling the Linux version, and had to pay the Microsoft tax.
