Hi, haven't used a linux box in many a years and am tossing up to run either
OpenSUSE 11.4 or CentOS 5.6 due to specific software requirements. If you
had to choice an OS which one would it be?

Since I'm gonna be a hack for sometime could someone point me in the
direction of a good software(linux)/hardware shop in Sydney, preferably on
the Northside.

Cheers

Andrew

Hi Andrew,

I'd second Ubuntu, Kubuntu or Fedora, though I'd suggest version 10.04 (K)Ubuntu. 10.04 is a long term support (LTS) version and so you can hold onto it (security updates etc) for longer than the intervening versions.

I too am curious as to the 'specific software requirements' bit :)) Sounds lot like 'certain circumstances' or 'colourful racing identity' or 'School for Specific Purposes'.

Regards,

Patrick
