I don't think Singapore is anyway same as US. Perhaps in the context
of law enforcement Singapore is very efficient, which sometimes can
become a problem. However, unlike US, it is hard for people to change
things (unless you are the government), even a simple public gathering
needs police permit and that since they are so efficient they will
hardly issue any to potential 'trouble makers' (in their opinion). The
society is also different unlike US. Meaning the people in Singapore
are mostly ignorance unlike US where radical movement exist, just that
the congress haven't hear from them. Unless the MP/Parliament do
something, I don't think situation will change in Singapore at the
moment. Consider contacting your MP or your political party to discuss
about this =)
