In the context of MS stuff, both Outlook and Outlook Express are broken [1]. In one line, they don't indent the previous messages' content, which kills understandability. I've observed that most regular users of those clients either choose the route of least resistance (top posting) or use colors to differentiate their responses, which naturally falls apart for clients without rich text support or have it disabled for various reasons.
