I can definitely help in conducting the event since I am residing in Bangalore.

Great news!

The reason I suggested the weekend of the 30th/31st March is because I'll be in Bangalore then. I have lots of experience of helping run smaller events, but don't know much about the Bangalore open source scene, so the help of people like you will be invaluable!

Let me know what needs to be done for organizing this.

I think the first question is what sort of event do we think will work best in Bangalore, given the limited time until the event with which to get the word out. One option might be a BarCamp (un-conference style event with lots of ~30 minute talks), another is to host a hackathon day (where we get people together to code, bug fix, test and document), or finally we could perhaps do a hybrid (eg talks in the morning, coding in the afternoon)

Do you (or anyone else here!) have any thoughts on what might work best?

Also since I already organized a CloudStack User Meet up on Feb 5, 2013 in Bangalore , I am in touch with quite a number of cloudstack enthusiasts who attended the user meet up live at the Citrix office here and were willing to contribute. A lot many of them were beginners though , so the only question arises is what level and kind of hackathon would these cloudstackers be interested in .

Great, sounds like we can be sure of quite a bit of cloudstack material at the event! Any other projects strongly present in Bangalore?

Nick
