Michael,

I don't think John is kidding and neither am I.

Please find those files in the archives so I can read them, too.
Your chain got jerked real hard if you have been convinced or
believe that lightning does not produce a massive amount of RFI
and a EMP that is difficult to measure unless you are doing that
kind of research and have the proper equipment to do so.

They are wrong.

Ron

Actually, I'm not kidding.

We had electrical engineers on the list explaining in great detail exactly
what EMP is and what can and can not cause it. The AM radio scenario you
mention is was determined not to be caused by EMP but I forgot what it was
caused by.

I'll try to look up in the archives about this or my notes from the
engineers. We were even going to have a WISPCON session addressing this as
well.

I think I know what you guys are thinking...and I'm not trying to cause a
stir here. I'm just trying to point out what I believe are misconceptions
about lightning and their relation to EMP.

I'll look for some of the old discussions when I get back home tonight.

Michael
