I don't know how anyone else feels, but I think you have several good
suggestions here!!!!!

Subject: [smartBridges] Air Nic and Air Carte under Windows XP

We've had similar experiences. SB IMHO needs to resolve this
immediately. How hard could it be for them to make SimpleMonitor work
with XP?? Windows XP is on more than half of the PC's we are configuring
for customers these days.

Tom Haynes says, "Tell XP to not use Wireless Zero Config and then
disable the service from the MMC panel. Then use the simpleMonitor"

Does this really solve the problem?? SB please respond.

Also, this weekend I was at my girlfriend's house who has Comcast cable
and her Motorola 'Net Surfer' cable modem has connections for BOTH
ethernet and USB. Now that is a good idea for the Air Bridge Indoor
don't you think?

Another cool product (don't you think) would be an integrated A/P,
Switch, Router (just like the ones we use now from Linksys, D-Link and
NetGear) but where the WAN port had the client radio built in. So, take
an AirBridge Indoor and merge it with, say a NetGear A/P, Router. Go
ahead, shoot holes in this. Is this too much in one box?

Also, while I'm loose associating:

Hey SmartBridges did you ever notice that your indoor units fall over on
their sides when wires are attached with just the slightest provocation?
This could be fixed by adding a snap on plastic base with a wider
footprint.

It also does not retain any WEP information after you reboot the
computer. I would stay away from them if using for WISP.

Does anybody have any issues with the AirNic under XP?
It cannot be controlled and ussually locks in to the weakest signal
available.
