Hmmm...that would require 1 of 2 things:
1. The client to have the simpleMonitor software and admin password.
2. or A rollout to clients home to log in on the wired side.

I don't give the client the software...it just begs them to mess with
things.

I can not change the password from here.

I find it hard to believe that this is a corrupted packet problem. All
of my clients are within .5 mile. One is only 50 ft and I cant log into
it.

Also...if they do a factory default restore...then my password works
again. I never changed it once I burned it in with simpleDeploy.

What is different about simpleMonitor logging into a unit and MRTG
polling it or simpleNMS polling it for stats?? There must be some
difference....because simpleMonitor is the only thing that doesn't work.

One more tidbit of info. Now that I have upgraded the firmware on a few
of my bad units, the latest firmware is located in the airBridge folder.
So...now when I attempt to log into the clients airBridge using the
admin password, the first thing I get is, "Do you want to upgrade the
firmware...". I say "NO", and then it gives me the "bad password" crap.

I am stumped.

Does login on the wired work? At times, the packet could be corrupted in
the wireless transmission, try a few more times. Pls do one test, change
the password to just single character, can work?

Wow...this has me really stumped.

If I get the client to do a "restore to factory default", then I can log
right in.

If I wirelessly use simpleDeploy on the airPoints (airBridges down allow
this), then I can log right into the units.

Otherwise, I can not log in. I get this error message "Can not Read the
airBridge Configuration...Check your password."

Please...does anyone have a clue on what could be causing this??

BTW...I did not upgrade any of these units to the new BETA firmware.
So...it's not that either.

As a matter of fact, I haven't done anything to these units. I bet that
a manual "restore to factory default" by the client would allow me to
log in again. But....being that the units are working still, I really
don't want to bother the client.

MORE INFO:
Rebooting the devices with simpleNMS does NOT work. I still can not log
into 75% of my units (aP, aPPo, aB, aBO).

I used simpleDeploy to reflash the "bad" aPPo-CB units (aPPo's and aP's
are the only ones I can still wirelessly use simpeDeploy on). Once I
reflashed them with simpleDeploy, I was able to log in as normal with
simpleMonitor.

1. simpleDeploy uses the ADMIN password. So...obviously, I know my
passwords. So...please don't suggest bad password.

2. I have simpleNMS loaded with my ADMIN passwords as well, and I am
able to see stats and perform reboots. Once again proving that I know
all my passwords.

3. MRTG is polling the units every 5 minutes with the USER passwords.
One last time proving that I know my passwords.

So....why am I all of a sudden unable to log into 75% of my units (very
old and very new units)?!?!?!

Why does reflashing them with simpleDeploy fix the problem???

About 30 of my units are aB or aBo's, so I cant use simpleDeploy to fix
the problem.

Anyone have any suggestions???

Subject: [smartBridges] Cant log into units??

For some odd reason, I can not log into a lot of my units using
simpleMonitor. I have tried both the admin and user passwords as well.

To add to the oddness, simpleNMS is able to talk with all the units
(obtaining their stats, etc). But when I choose MANAGE (which opens
simpleMonitor--also using my ADMIN password), I get the "Can not
read...check your password" crap.

Same thing happens when I try to open it with simpleMonitor directly.

More oddness....MRTG is polling the units just fine, obtaining their
usage, RSSI and LQ...using the USER password.

I am stumped. I don't know when this started...cause I don't normally
log into the units unless there is a problem. I had one that wouldn't
let me in today, so I tried all of them.

To recap...I can not log into over half of my units (about 35 of the 45)
using either the ADMIN or USER password

What the heck I am doing wrong....duh....am I forgetting something
really stupid???
