I have seen some version of the firmware upgrade sopftware (i can't remember which at the moment) that have this problem. I treid a different version and it worked just fine. Also make sure that you are on the same subnet or properly routed. I have had the softwrae find a devices but not be able to update it giving that same error because I had the wrong ip settings.
