too bad there is not a cheaper way. 1000 bucks would be good including everything. hehehe but I guess you can't get everything.

100' Tower
You can purchase a 100' Rohn SCL (self supporting tower) for about $2100. Shipping will be 3 to 4 hundred. Concrete will be $1000.
Steel and frame for concrete $200. Assemble laying down and a crane wil be about $450.

We were very lucky.  Being in an unincorporated area, there were no authorities involved since we are under 200'.  No zoning restrictions, no building permits, nothing.  And my friend had a gin pole from his days in the business that he let us use and taught my guys how to erect the tower.  Without checking all my receipts, I am guessing $2.5k, but it was probably less than that as the tower itself was less than $1k.  We were having a hard time seeing it from the city water tower where our APPOs are, so we hung Christmas lights on it so we could pick it out with binoculars.  Bet my neighbors got a kick out of that!  Kind of fun having a 100' tower in your backyard. :-))

I purchased a 100 Rohn 55 tower.. it took me months to get it up with local authorities trying to keep me from doing this. I am scheduled to go to 160.  This is an easy tower to climb, but, you will have to make your own gin pole to erect it.

I was wonder what everyone is doing for towers?  I have high trees in my area, 70 foot high in some cases.  I'm running off a radio station tower now, but what other options are there?  I have found a 100 foot telescoping tower for like $3,200 bucks, but you need a crane and a big ass crew just to get the thing up, not to mention the guy wires.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Dennis
