Which is not a problem just that people did not understand what you have just explained. People were thus confused soo much that smartbrigdes removed ips from view.

Well, showing the IP address can have several problems. One is that several computers may be behind the CPE. It's hard to tell which IP address it should display as comming from that MAC Address. What I have found from querying the smartbridge devices with snmp is that they will not update the IP address. If you reboot the device it will show the proper IP's, but they will not update as different computers are hooked up behind the CPE.
