I have wondered why the airpoint don't show that info as well.  I have seen it show the infomation for the first second and then on refresh it goes to n/a actually I think it was the older version of simplenms tha tdid this and the readings went to 255.255.255.255 or 204.204.204.204 or some silly values like that.

I'm still wondering why in SimpleNMS when I'm looking at the Client Info tab
of an access point that it doesn't show the RSSI and Link Quality of the clients,
even though the ability seems to be there. I get "N/A".

The APs are AirPoint Indoor and the Clients are AirBridge Indoor and Outdoor
running 0.01.07 firmware, which should be showing this information.

http://www.kistech.com/images/nms.jpg shows the screen shot. The unit on the
right side with the MAC ending in E9 is running the latest firmware, but I don't
get any readings in this screen for it. If I look at just that radio and go to it's
Statistics tab it shows the RSSI and LQ just fine.

Any ideas why it doesn't show in this view?

I have both versions of simplemonitor and simplenms.  The latest versions do not show the ip address. Unfortunately there were too many people that whined and complained aobut what the ip address meant that they removed it so that there would be no confusion. I would like to see it return as it is much easier to match up an ip (95% of the time it showed the ip of the customersmachine or router) than to match up an mac address.  Though the infomation is likely avaible in simpleNMS to match up mac address with the more user name of the radio and display that.

David

Sounds like he's talking about the IP shown in the "Client Info" tab, which
I've never seen an IP listed there, just a MAC address. It's worth noting that
I would LOVE to see an IP address listed there along with the MAC, but
I would rather see the APs signal strength that it's picking up from the CPE.
Not the value on the CPE, but what the AP sees.

Anyone want to weigh in on this? Seems to me that it would be useful to see IP's in SimpleMonitor. I think something got lost in Alex's translation. I don't understand his explanation.

Hi Bobby,

You are referring the IP address shown in Client Info Tab? As the IP address displayed is random and does not reflect the correct device and due to this confusion or inaccuracy, we have removed this IP info in our latest simpleMonitor.

....from the latest versions of SimpleMonitor? It was helpful to be able to see the devices by IP.
