Title: RE: [smartBridges] Cost Effective Tower!

Whats with all of you and this thing against Amps SO WHAT if it amps the noise the SNR is the same so its fine, the point is getting the S to a point that its hearable otherwise amps would be nonsense and no one would buy em and they wouldn't sell them anymore. The fact is you can't get away from noise so make the signal as high as you can to hear it you think u can hear a 35mw lucent from 1 mile away on an ap with no antenna on the lucent and actually surf well with a few lil obstructions without any whatsoever amp? If you can please tell me how cause we have tried, even if your just amping enough to compensate cable loss at the AP, but in my view amps don't really matter if there amping the nose cause there amping everything so the SNR ratio is the same its just now instead of hearing and yelling like an infant you're an adult. But that's my view I might be a complete loony bin but then again it wudnt be the first time I was told I was wrong.

Amps amplify signal *and* noise, so to my thinking, you'd want as little
amping as possible.
High gain antennas is good, but the higer the gain, the narrower the
vertical beamwidth.

Good luck and have fun figuring out what's best. ;)

(I started out with a 500mw amp and a 8dB omni. Everything got *much* better
when I went to sectors)
