This is pretty cool. I was not aware that we could even enable the Smartbridges equipment to send traps.....I thought we could only get events via SNMP polling. To enable traps, would you set the OID to 1 (or what)?

Tell it to disable traps. I don't see the switch in simpleMonitor so you will have to send an SNMPput command to OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.410.1.1.1.3.0 and set it to 2. This will disable SNMP traps. A lot of traps from an APPo indicates a problem, most likely association/dis-association events.
