Under Win 2K pro do a ctl-alt-del and go to Task Manager Tab and then Processes and look for anything that might be using port 161 or 162 (SNMP) and kill that process if your not currently using it. If you are using it, SimpleNMS won't load.

I had some version of the airBridge SimpleMonitor installed on my
computer and after install whatever version of airPoint monitor was on
the CD that came with the airPoint I'm trying to set up, simpleMonitor
stopped working. It keeps telling me that there is a previous version of
simpleMonitor running and that I need to exit that before it can load. I
have reboot many times, I have searched for a process running, I have
searched the registry for some key that might have gotten created and
left behind from an abnormal termination, I have uninstall airBridge,
airPoint, simpleDeploy, and simpleNMS, downloaded new versions and
installed them again, etc. No matter what I do, I cannot get it to open
either airBridge software or airPoint software.
 
Any ideas?
