·         The airBridge with the firmware version 0.09.10 is a transparent bridge and supports only single PC.

·         The airBridge with the firmware version 0.01.04 and later supports multiple MAC addresses but does MAC translation of the PC’s MAC address when requesting for an IP address from the DHCP server, however if you see at the main packet level header you will see the airBridge’s MAC address and the Bootp level you shall see the PC’s MAC address.

·         The airPointPRO in CB mode any firmware just passes the PC’s MAC address while requesting for an IP address from the DHCP server, without doing any MAC translation while supporting multiple MAC addresses.

I hope it clarifies.

Wayland,

You must be using airPoints (cb mode) on the client or the very old

airBridge firmware.  Because the most recent airBridge firmware appends

the airBridge MAC address to the client's IP address.  Therefore, only

the MAC of the airBridge shows up at both the aPPo and the arp table

within your gateway.

I am not sure why you say that we can't see the actual PC MAC. On my set

up

we are seeing the PC MAC and successfully assign IP addresses to them

using

DHCP. The firmware in the AP is 1.4j.6

Can you explain further?

Regards,

Wayland.
