Yes, it will assign an IP address to the MAC address of the PC, then the
IP-COP linux firewall must be looking at the bootp packet level to get
the information of the MAC address of the PC

Latest airBridge firmware and IP-Cop linux firewall as DHCP. It happly
assigns the IP addresses to the MAC addresses of the PCs.
