The other thing you can do is have an alias for your upstreams news server.
For instance our news server is news.oregonfast.net. But in reality there is no server, it's aliased to our upstreams server.
Not being a network admin, I'm not sure alias is the correct term.

Sorry for posting this here, but I thought you people would know more about it.

    A customer of mine keeps asking for a newsgroup server name.  I've
    never used newsgroups nor know how they work, but apparently his
    last ISP had a newsgroup server he used.  I've found some names of
    free newsgroup servers on a google search, but don't know what to
    tell him so that he can use it.

Anyone know about this?
