When you mentioned reset, do you mean just power cycle the device and it
started to work again? If this is the case, we have released beta
firmware that would resolve occasionally disassociation after long
period of operation which requires power cycle or software reset the
unit in order to re-associate. Internally, we have added watch-dog
feature to monitor the association. I will send you the firmware to try
out.

Subject: [smartBridges] Frustrated, disgusted.

When I installed our first Smartbridges link, I was very troubled with
all
the talk on the list. Of course this seemed to really escalate right
after
I put in the order.

Once I installed everything (after a 3 day burn-in) I was very impressed
with the rock solid stability.

< 3 or 4 weeks pass >

Now I'm pulling my hair out. I'm driving 40 miles round trip
approximately
every other day to reset the distant end of a PTP link. Absolutely,
positively NOTHING has changed since the hardware was installed. It's
an
APPO <-> ABO link. The APPO only has the one association and the ABO is
plugged directly into a router and only sees one IP on the ethernet
side. I
have to power cycle it to bring it back up. I've never touched the
config
since I first set it up.

Firmware versions;

APPO Ver. 1.4j.6
ABO Ver. 0.01.04

This is creating some very unhappy customers and one extremely unhappy
WISPer. Is there anyone that can offer any suggestions? Are these
units
really somehow behaving differently over time? I just got back from
resetting the link again and the temperature outside is 64deg. That
would
make most electronics fairly happy by my estimate.

What can I do?

Scott
