There are a couple of things to do to troubleshoot it. Make sure that when
it is working that you can see both the AP and the SM using SimpleNMS.

When it locks up is it just the Ethernet side or does the radio no longer
show an Association with the AP?

Does it come back if you reset the AP side?

If it loses association can you reach the ABO from the Ethernet side without
resetting it? What does it see as AP's in that case?

Get a copy of Ethereal (it's free) and sniff the traffic on both the AP side
and the Ether side of the ABO. Your looking for large amounts of ICMP echo
traffic. If you find a lot of ICMP (you will know if when you see it) then
you get to find the computer with either Nachi or Blaster on it. Both of
those worms can cause router lockups (and maybe ABO lockups...).
