WOW well this lady that is having the problem has a MAC and her words to e were Macs don't get viruses. I tried really hard to bite my lip and not laugh!
Seems I just recieved a couple mails from my latest customer looking at the backend logs but the E-mail says it is from someone else HEHEH looking at it Norton says its the KLEZ YUCK looks like I will be calling him up to let him know he has a virus on his machine replicating to everyone hehehe ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jeremy Oswalt" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, September 24, 2003 4:33 PM Subject: RE: [smartBridges] Lost packets (was Slow down problems ) You'll be relieved to know that the customer discovered that it was HIS PC that was causing the packet loss. He took it over to his in-laws and tried his gaming and got the same results. He's going to try changing his NIC. I suggested a virus scan too. He was fine when we "first" installed him about a year ago. But then, he was 1 of about 5 customers. _____ Jeremy _____ -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Blazen Wireless Sent: Wednesday, September 24, 2003 2:45 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [smartBridges] Lost packets (was Slow down problems ) how far out is he from your AP?? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jeremy Oswalt" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, September 24, 2003 11:35 AM Subject: RE: [smartBridges] Lost packets (was Slow down problems ) That brings up an interesting point . . . I have a customer complaining of lost packets. I've been trying to troubleshoot it, but have been rather blind about it. No one else seems to have troubles. He's a heavy gamer and is upset that he keeps getting dropped off his games. My pipe is okay and the router seems to be holding up. I have about 20 on this same AP and no one else seems to be complaining, though none of them are gaming. _____ Jeremy _____ -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, September 24, 2003 2:48 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [smartBridges] Slow down problems Every time I've experienced interference (numerous times), it hasn't affected ping times. From what I've seen, it usually causes lost packets, but not high latency. I don't know if anyone has mentioned this before (I jumped in in the middle of this thread), but what you're describing sounds exactly like something I experienced a few weeks ago. I had about six users with the Welchia virus, and they were causing high latency all over the network. If you haven't done it already, put a packet sniffer on the network, and see if you're seeing a lot of icmp echo traffic.
