Activex?

I'd be careful starting a Mac war. Besides . . . what does this have to do
with Smartbridges?

It would be a waste to write a Mac virus anyway, with so few people using
them. (just had to throw that one in there) I'd be careful making blanket
statements like "Macs only get Word viruses."

Stick to "Smartbridge" topics.

I assume you mean Mac as in Macintosh and not MAC as in MAC address.
A Mac is not vulnerable to Klez virus. If she is running OS X, the only
viruses (virii?)
that are out for it is MS Word macro viruses (thanks MS!). If running OS 9
or lower, there is only
about 78 of them and they are quite rare. How do I know this? I've used
Macs since
1988 and Windows since the 3.11 days. I've never used a firewall and have
my Mac sitting
on an unshaped IP connection for the last 5 years. I run a virus scan a few
times a
year and never have seen a virus.

Macs can receive and send Windows viruses but not be affected by them.
The chance that her computer is infected by Klez is 0 (zero). The only way
she could be infected is if she is running Virtual PC and using MS Look
Out, err
Outlook.

Bad NIC, it's possible. If you or her need a hand troubleshooting the
problem
let me know. I'd be glad to help.
