A Mac is not vulnerable to Klez virus. If she is running OS X, the only viruses (virii?)
that are out for it is MS Word macro viruses (thanks MS!). If running OS 9 or lower, there is only
about 78 of them and they are quite rare. How do I know this? I've used Macs since
1988 and Windows since the 3.11 days. I've never used a firewall and have my Mac sitting
on an unshaped IP connection for the last 5 years. I run a virus scan a few times a
year and never have seen a virus.
Macs can receive and send Windows viruses but not be affected by them.
The chance that her computer is infected by Klez is 0 (zero). The only way
she could be infected is if she is running Virtual PC and using MS Look Out, err
Outlook.
Bad NIC, it's possible. If you or her need a hand troubleshooting the problem let me know. I'd be glad to help.

You'll be relieved to know that the customer discovered that it was HIS PC that was causing the packet loss. He took it over to his in-laws and tried his gaming and got the same results. He's going to try changing his NIC. I suggested a virus scan too.
Interesting . . .

He's less than a mile and has an excellent signal and RSSI. He was fine when we "first" installed him about a year ago. But then, he was 1 of about 5 customers.

That brings up an interesting point . . . I have a customer complaining of lost packets. I've been trying to troubleshoot it, but have been rather blind about it. No one else seems to have troubles.
He's a heavy gamer and is upset that he keeps getting dropped off his games. My pipe is okay and the router seems to be holding up. I have about 20 on this same AP and no one else seems to be complaining, though none of them are gaming.

Every time I've experienced interference (numerous times), it hasn't affected ping times. From what I've seen, it usually causes lost packets, but not high latency. I don't know if anyone has mentioned this before (I jumped in in the middle of this thread), but what you're describing sounds exactly like something I experienced a few weeks ago. I had about six users with the Welchia virus, and they were causing high latency all over the network. If you haven't done it already, put a packet sniffer on the network, and see if
you're seeing a lot of icmp echo traffic.
