I just replaced an outdoor airbridge today that was up and running for a few months.
The customer has been asking me if there was something we had done because she wasn't going as fast as she used to.
Yesterday I replaced the AP at that micro cell as part of an upgrade I was doing. I went and installed another customer and when I was done I called back to the office and they told me this sub called saying she was not working.
So I figured I must have had her radio not set to 000000000.
When I go there the SmartBridge was set to 0000000 and had the correct essid and channel number in place. She had like 90% timeouts.
So I played with that radio for 3 hours with out luck. I reset the unit, back to it's factory state, did the site survey, chose the Ap out of the list and still got crap. Did this a zillion times.
Seeing it was 9pm and not wanting to work on a second story shake roof in the windy moonlight, I came back today, Installed a EZ Bridge, and wham! perfect connection. No time out, high connection rate.
Problem solved.
So Into my big box of defective Smart Bridges another one went.

I wonder if I can get a refund?

Hey guys,
You may recall last week I reported a problem with an ABO install where the ABO worked fine when connected directly to my laptop's NIC but when connected to the WAN port of the Linksys router (and two other, newer PC's) I could not even get a link light much less connectivity.
Well, I went out there yesterday with a WET11 plugged it in and it worked great. The WET11 is $99. The ABO is $239. Hmmmmmm......
So, I have another outdoor SB unit to add to the pile (Qty. 7 in the last 6 weeks) of bad SB outdoor units to be RMA'ed. BTW - Overall, I love the SB *indoor* units (with the exception of the flaky/buggy SimpleMonitor 32 bit client). The *outdoor* units have a multitude of problems making them unsuitable for use in areas where electrical storms exist. SB's new product line looks promising with the exception of the exposed CAT 5. They *really* should have fixed that. Also, SB *really* needs to get away from the 32 bit client and go with a Web interface.
