One way to prove this might be to switch off Internet backhaul to all but one airBridge somehow, then see if it still runs slow simply due to the number of airBridges associated. People come up with theories as to what is happening. You need to compare their theory to the evidance and possibly run tests to prove or disprove what they are saying. Here is a theory. It's the PC's which are causing network slowdowns. Here is a test to prove or disprove this; Switch off DHCP so the PC's can't use the network, or better still get the users to unplug from the network card (tricky). Then have all the airBridges associated and see if you are still slow. It maybe that Windows is trying to learn the names of all the computers in network neighbourhood. The more you add the more the traffic escalates. It's exponential. Two possible solutions to prove this. Switch off peer to peer connectivity in the airPoint, there is a check box for this in simple monitor somewhere. Or run a WINS server and set this in your DHCP. This way the PCs will announce themselves to WINS which will provide the names of all the other PCs, this is much more efficient. BTW, we are only up to 18 on our AP Regards, Wayland. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Blazen Wireless" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, October 29, 2003 6:15 AM Subject: Re: [smartBridges] Slow down problems > I have sectors and NO did not have overlapping channels in the beginning I > did and it worked 10 times better then it does now.
