I ran a little experiment here... I ripped part of a DVD and compressed it to something I would consider 'VHS quality'. The clip is 30 seconds and it uses 3.6meg of disk space. To me, that would mean a data stream of around 120K. An entire 2 hour movie would take about 900meg at that rate. Not too bad as far as the cost of disk space goes these days (30gig for $80)
