what firmware are you using on the ABO I would suggest 0.01.07 or 0.01.08 as the latest ones to try...I have seen this happen when I logged into a customers radio to switch AP names or WEP on or off and it scrambles the SSID and gives all kinds of hex characters etc. I had to truck roll to the clients house to fix it..

We have an Orinoco AP2000 at a water tower. We have one radio card in this unit. We also have a YDI ECII acting as the backhaul. The two units are connect via eachother's ethernet ports. No switch or router in between. This has worked great for sometime now...until the last week or so. About a week ago, we started noticing a massive slow down on our network...then the AP could not be reached with a ping or any admin tools...i.e., the network was down. So, figuring maybe it was equipment failure, I replaced all the AP equipment at the tower...different AP2000, different card, different coax jumper...and bang! It was back to normal. I did change channels however. Now, here we are a week later (today). Same thing is happening. We have WET11's and ABO's as CPE on our network. I personally have a WET11 at my home...the WAN light now comes and goes...this morning it is totally off. We have also noticed that after the first "outage", the ABOs had lost association and upon further inspection, the AP that each was associated with was just a bunch of random garbage...like sHOFW3EHNFSALX, instead of the name of our AP. We re-associated them and they worked fine. So, time for my questions: 1) Is there some setting that the ABOs need to have to "play nice" with an AP2000? 2) If an ABO freaks out and loses its association, could it hose the AP2000 also? 3) Should I put a switch or router between the ECII and the AP2000? I am really in need of assistance here...I am about to my ropes end with this stuff...any pointers or suggestions will be more than welcomed.
