The following posting from Kevin Summers (looks like we've got most of the seasons covered ! bw). This is EXACTLY what is required if the 172Mhz transmissions are actually causing the problem. I had no idea they came in so cheap these days !! Well worth a try. This'll sort out desens and any intermods too. Does anyone have a UK source ?
Thanks Kevin !!! >>>>>>>>>>>>>> www.teletronics.com. Get one of their bandpass filters. It unfortunately introduces -3db loss, but if you put it between your radio and the antenna it will likely solve the problem. They are cheap enough to give it a try anyway. >>>>>>>>>>>>>> ----- Original Message ----- From: "Brian Winter" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Tuesday, November 25, 2003 5:16 PM Subject: Re: [smartBridges] Hosed network > it is possible that the 172Mhx transmitter could be de-senseing rx front > end - swamping it with "unwanted" signal so "wanted" signal doesn't stand a > chance, esp likely if you have your radio close to the 172M aerial. > Recommend putting the radio on the tower.
