All sorts of potential issues here: do you have an amp at both ends of the link ?
i hear some amps switch between tx/rx introducing delays and missed rx packets, esp in poor rx sig str is this injector in the shed a dc injector (ie PoE) or RF injector ? If RF, theres little point in bumping up the tx power by 10dB only to throw it away in the feeder. Losing rx signal in feeder is unrecoverable and gets lost in the rx front end noise. Recommend putting the radio on the tower, lose the amp and lose the long feeder it is possible that the 172Mhx transmitter could be de-senseing rx front end - swamping it with "unwanted" signal so "wanted" signal doesn't stand a chance, esp likely if you have your radio close to the 172M aerial. Recommend putting the radio on the tower. On "community" radio sites (this is "high band vhf" used by emergency services, security, private mobile radio nationwide in UK) it is common radio practice to filter out such interference if it exists - this can be expensive. You don't say what aerial you are using - might get some benefit from more directional (less beamwidth) aerial or changing polarisation for isolation. To assess the situation, if you can't get the 172M tx shut down for a short period, you might be able to deflect unwanted signal with earthed tinfoil / chicken wire - a town / country solution :) ----- Original Message ----- From: "John K.
